Met Éireann Issues Orange And Yellow Weather Warnings

Met Éireann has issued a series of weather warnings due to forecasted wind, snow and ice.

A status orange wind warning is in place for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

It is predicted wind with speeds of 65 to 75km/h will occur, with gusts of 110 to 130km/h at times overnight in exposed areas, especially around coastal regions.

In addition, a yellow warning for wind for the entire country has been issued, and it is expected to reach speeds of 60 to 65km/h, with gusts of 90 to 110km/h.

A yellow snow and ice warning has also been put in place overnight for Connacht, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.

It is expected heavy snow showers will develop to accumulations of 3cm in parts of Connacht, Ulster and Leinster.

Status Yellow Wind Warning Issued
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare. West to southwest winds of mean speeds 45 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h are expected in western coastal counties throughout Friday and in the northwest during Friday afternoon and evening.
