Revenue Targets Illegal Wine Imports
More than 3,000 bottles of wine have been seized by Revenue Officers in an operation targeting the illegal important of wine from Northern Ireland.
One hundred and ten cases of assorted wine intended for commercial sale were seized in Monaghan, and a motor home carrying the cases was also seized.
In follow-up operations, further seizures were made in retail outlets across a number of counties.
The seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegally imported alcohol products.

19,000 Cigarettes Seized At Dublin Airport
Revenue officers at Dublin Airport have seized 19,000 'Marlboro' brand cigarettes inside the luggage of a man arriving on a flight from Chisnau, via Istanbul. The contraband cigarettes were uncovered by detector dog "Lottie", and represented a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €7,000.

Illegal cigarettes worth an estimated €220,000 have been seized by Revenue officers in Cork. Officers found approximately 42,000 unstamped 'NZ Slim' cigarettes were seized at a commercial premises in Cork city. The cigarettes were concealed inside several 'mannequins'.
