Taoiseach Completes European Trade Mission

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has completed a European trade mission to The Netherlands and Germany, it has been announced.

A total of 17 contracts valued at approximately €57 million were signed by Irish companies over the course of the trip.

It is understood Mr Kenny will meet senior executives from a number of German companies with operations in Ireland later today, 08 January.

The Taoiseach will then conclude his visit with a courtesy call to Horst Seehofer, the Minister-President of Bavaria.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny Meets With French President Francois Hollande
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has met with French President, Francois Hollande, to discuss a range of EU counter-terrorism measures and the impact of the UK's Brexit decision. 175 New Jobs Announced For Galway
One hundred and seventy five new jobs are to be created by a pharmaceuticals company in Galway. Chanelle is to invest €70 million in expanding its manufacturing capacity and in its Research and Development facilities. The jobs are to be created over the next five years at the companies headquarters in Loughrea, Co Galway.

Taoiseach On Trade Mission To China

Former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds Dies Aged 81
Former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds has died aged 81. Reynolds, born in Rooskey, Co Roscommon, served as a minister in a number of governmental departments and was elected Taoiseach on two occasions. He has been honoured as playing an integral role in the Northern Ireland peace process. His death was announced by his eldest son, Philip Reynolds.

120 New Jobs Announced In Cork
One hundred and twenty new jobs have been created by technology firm Xanadu in Cork. Taoiseach Enda Kenny visited the firm's headquarters in Blackpool to announce the jobs. The firm, established in 2011, provides technical support to its clients.
