Garda Seek Male Driver Following Hit-And-Run In Dublin

Garda are trying to hunt down a male driver who ran over a pedestrian in Dublin.

The incident happened in Finglas at around 10.50am on Monday.

Gardaí believe the man attempted to rob a van, however he was disturbed by the driver and made off in a speeding car when he knocked down a male pedestrian.

He stopped the car and fled on foot.

The victim is believed to be in a serious condition in hospital.

The man is described as being in his mid-20s, unshaven, wearing a grey baseball hat and a dark hoodie.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Garda.

A man has been killed in a crash in Co Mayo. The incident happened shortly before 6pm on Tuesday at Newpark in Swinford when a car left the road. The 64-year-old male driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash while a female passenger received minor injuries.

Renewed Appeal Over Murder Of Taxi Driver
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of taxi driver Martin Mulligan. Mr Mulligan (53) was stabbed to death on 28 September following an altercation in Dundalk in Co Louth. It is believed the altercation began over an unpaid taxi fare.

Missing Cork Girl Believed To Be In Belfast
The PSNI is working with Gardai after a girl who went missing from Cork is believed to have travelled to Belfast. Leigh Arundel, 15, may be with an older male according to the police. Leigh went missing from her home on 05 September. She has a tattoo with the name 'Jimmy' on her left hand.

Nine Arrested In Dissident Republican Investigation
Nine people have been arrested in Dublin in relation to an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity. Eight arrested were made following a search of a house in the Tallaght area of the city.
