Garda Appeal To Road Users After Ongoing Weather Warnings

Gardaí have issued an appeal to all road users to exercise extreme caution on the roads in light of ongoing weather warnings.

Status Orange warnings remain in place for Dublin, Wicklow, Galway, Clare, Kerry and Limerick.

With high south westerly winds forecast motorists are advised to slow down, maintain a safe driving distance and always expect the unexpected. Gardaí are advising drivers of high sided vehicles, motorcyclists and cyclists who are particularly vulnerable to strong winds to take extra care.

Road users are advised to contact local Gardaí if they come across any fallen / falling debris across the road network, to never stop on a motorway to remove debris and to allow extra time for your journey.
