Appeal Issued Following Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for information on a fatal road traffic accident in Carrowntreila, Ballina.
A 20-year-old man was fatally injured when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a tree on the old Ballina to Foxford road at about 6:30pm on Wednesday.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to the Mortuary at Castlebar Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place today.
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to contact them at Ballina Garda Station on 096 20560, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of a fatal road accident in Co Kerry. A 24-year-old man died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the N69 Tralee-Listowel Road in Glenballyma in Tralee. The accident happened at about 21:45 on Saturday. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.

Garda have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident at Moyneard, Moyne, Co Tipperary on Tuesday 12 January. A 39-year-old female pedestrian died after being struck by a van on the Moynead Cross to Shanballyduff Cross Road at about 16:10. It is understood the driver of the van, a 55-year-old man, was uninjured.
