Child Dies After Cork Hotel Pool Incident

A 3-year-old child has died after being rushed to hospital on Monday following an incident at a hotel swimming pool on Cork.

It is understood that the boy was pulled from the pool by life guards just before 14:00 on Monday at the Quality Hotel in Redbarn, Youghal.

The child, understood to be on holiday with his family, was airlifted to Cork University Hospital before being transferred to Children's University Hospital in Dublin.

It is understood that he died in hospital on Tuesday.

A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is underway.

A 4-year-old boy remains in a critical condition following an incident at a hotel swimming pool in Cork on Monday. According to reports emergency services were called to the Quality Hotel in Redbarn, Youghal at about 14:00.
