Govt Criticised For 'Forcing' Environment Bill Through The Dáil
The Government has been criticised for "forcing" the Environment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2014 through the Dáil.
Sinn Féin Deputy Leader, Mary Lou McDonald TD, blamed "an increasingly cynical government and their use of procedures to stifle debate in the Dáil and force legislation through."
Deputy McDonald said: "I fear that we can expect more railroading of the democratic process from this government in the coming months as they grasp at any opportunity to achieve as much of their warped agenda as they can before the Irish people have a chance to remove them from office."
