Tech Firm Creates 80 Jobs In West Cork

West Cork-based technology company Global Shares has announced that it is to create 80 new jobs.

The company, which develops software for managing companies' employee equity plans, currently employs 60 people in Clonakilty, and has offices in London, New York and California.

Enterprise Ireland is supporting the company's expansion, which will see the jobs created over the next three years.

Cork Engineering Company Creates 40 New Jobs
Forty new jobs are to be created at Cork-based engineering firm BCD. The jobs will be in the Charleville engineering company's design and manufacturing divisions and are understood to come in the wake of a new multi-million euro vaccine plant project in the Asian market. Currently the Cork company employes 190 staff.

Motorway Services Firm Creates 360 New Jobs
Three hundred and sixty new full time jobs are to be created by motorway services Applegreen, with the opening of six new stations. An additional 250 jobs will also be created during the construction of the new motorway forecourts, which will be in Wicklow, Birdhill in Co Tipperary, Swords in Co Dublin, and Lemybrien, Co Waterford.

Some 75 new jobs are to be created at the Dublin based headquarters of technology firm, the IT Alliance Group. The announcement was made at the official opening of the Irish company's new 20,000 square foot Dublin headquarters.

Recruitment Agency Creates 50 New Jobs
Fifty new jobs are to be created by recruitment agency Sigmar at offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway. Over the next 18 months, the company will hire staff to fill roles within the firm, mostly recruiters, it is understood.
