'Many Thousands' Likely To Receive Incorrect Water Bill

Thousands of Irish Water customers are to receive incorrect bills.

The company has said that as not all customers have yet registered, they have to "operate on the basis of incomplete information" when issuing the first bills.

The first water charge bills are due to begin going out from the beginning of April.

It warned that with such a new billing system, "many thousands of people are likely to receive incorrect.

The company urged anyone who received a bill they believe to be incorrect, to contact them immediately.
