Over 220 Jobs To Be Cut By Chocolate Manufacturers

More than 220 jobs are to be lost at three Mondelez Ireland sites.

The company, which owns Cadbury and chewing gum brand Trident, is to close a production plant in Tallaght in Dublin, with the loss of 45 jobs.

A further 160 jobs are to go at chocolate manufacturing plants in Coolock, Dublin, and in Rathmore, Co Kerry.

Mondelez said the jobs losses are part of a restructuring of the company's products, with some brands being discontinued.

The job losses have been described as a "complete shock" by Siptu, who has called for an "immediate meeting" with management at the company.
