NAMA Urged To Release Housing

NAMA is being urgedto release property to thousands of homeless people in the North Central area.

Sinn Féin's Denis Mitchell said the current housing waiting list is "unacceptably high".

She said: "I see families everyday desperately waiting on adequate housing for their families. I see parents looking for a safe place to raise their children.

"There are currently 2880 families waiting to be housed and 2486 single applicants. No government housing strategy is appearing to have any impact on these numbers.

"I am now calling on NAMA to release the property it has in the area for social housing before these figures get any higher."
