Ireland's 'Greatest Rugby Player' Jack Kyle Dies Aged 88

Jack Kyle, former Ireland rugby player, has died at the age of 88.

As well as playing 46 times for Ireland, Dr Kyle played in all four games when Ireland won the Grand Slam in 1948.

He later retired to concentrate on his work as a doctor, and in 1968 embarked on humanitarian work as a surgeon in Indonesia.

His continued this work in Zambia, where he lived from 1966 until 2000.

In 2002, Dr Kyle was voted Ireland's best ever rugby player and was inducted into the IRB Hall of Fame in 2008.

Police Search For Irish Rugby Fans Following Train Assault
Police in England are appealing for information after a train passenger was assaulted by two Irish rugby fans following a Six Nations rugby match in Twickenham. The incident happened at around 11pm as the train travelled between Sanderstead and Riddlesdown on Saturday, 27 February.
