Govt To Publish Revised Water Charges Plan

A revised plan for water charges is to be published by the government next week.

The cabinet is expected to agree a new, simplified system on Tuesday, with the Dáil laying out the revised plan on Wednesday, for publication early next week.

The Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, said two key aspects are being considered under the revised plan: affordability and giving certainty to householders over the cost of water charges.

In other news a group of protesters have gathered at a hotel in Limerick City on Monday morning as Minister Noonan was expected to attend an event.
