IDA Criticise HSE Over Dental Clinic Closure

A children's dental clinic at St James's Hospital has been closed, following concerns over the suitability of the building.

The Irish Dental Association (IDA) has criticised the HSE, who ran the facility, for closing the clinic at short notice and without alternative facilities being provided.

The clinic was opened as a temporary facility in 2003 after the previous building was closed to make way for a Luas line.

"The HSE has known for years that a permanent facility was required yet has simply chosen to close the clinic without putting an alternative in place," IDA chief executive Fintan Hourihan said.
