Two Arrested Over Dublin Taxi Hijacking

Two men have been arrested in connection with a taxi-hijacking in Dublin in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Gardaí say that a 20 and 21-year-old man have been arrested after a taxi was hijacked in Ballymun at approximately 02:30am.

It is understood that the men travelled from O'Connell Street to Ballymun, where on arrival one of the men threatened the driver with a knife, forcing him out of the car. The men then drove off in the taxi.

The taxi was found abandoned a short time later on Old Airport Road near Ballymun.

A search of the area led to the arrests, gardaí say.

Men Arrested Over €1m Cocaine And Heroin Find
Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.
