Cannabis Seized At Dublin Port

Customs officers have seized cannabis worth an estimated street value of €20,000 at Dublin Port.

The drugs were found on Tuesday hidden in a vehicle that had arrived from Holyhead.

Revenue Customs Service say that the drugs were uncovered during "routine profiling" at the port.

Gardaí have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the find.

Revenue Customs Officers have seized over 10.3 million cigarettes, with a retail value of over €4.7m at Dublin Port. The Don Corleone cigarettes were hidden in a 40-foot container and were described as "paper handkerchiefs" on the manifest. The investigation is continuing.

Over €4m Cannabis Seized At Rosslare Port
Cannabis worth an estimated €4.3 million has been seized by Revenue Officers at Rosslare Port. The smuggled drugs were concealed in a consignment of frozen meat in an unaccompanied container that arrived from France. Following routine profiling, the container was selected for scanning and the drugs were uncovered. Investigations are ongoing.

Dublin Port Tunnel Closed Following Accident
The Dublin Port Tunnel is currently closed following a road traffic collision early on Friday morning. It is understood a truck has overturned in the north bore tunnel, and emergency services are using the south bore tunnel to access the scene. The 5 axle ban for Dublin City has been lifted due to the Port Tunnel collision.

Blaze-Hit Dublin Port Tunnel Reopens
A fire in the Dublin Port Tunnel has forced the closure of the crucial tunnel in both directions early this morning. Although both lanes have since been reopened, traffic remains very heavy in the area and gardaí have appealed to motorists to use alternative routes.

Drugs Seized At Dublin Port
Customs officers at Dublin Port have seized heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of nearly 2.5 million euros. It is understood that officers found 12 kilos of heroin and 2.5 kilos of cocaine concealed in two wood burning ranges, which arrived from Rotterdam on Thursday. Officers, using a sniffer dog, discovered the drugs.
