100 Jobs To Be Created In Dublin
Up to 100 new jobs are to be created in Dublin by IT services company Version 1.
The €8m investment is being supported by the BDO Development Capital Fund. It is part of the first investment since the launch of the €75m fund in March.
The multi-million euro investment will allow Version 1 to expand into the UK, creating up to 100 IT consultancy jobs in Ireland. The company currently employs 500 people, while its Irish headquarters are located in Dublin.
Welcoming the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, said: "At the heart of the Action Plan for Jobs is supporting the development of a powerful engine of Irish exporting enterprise. We have put in place a range of measures to deliver this, including the establishment with support from my Department of €225million Development Capital Scheme to support growing mid-sized Irish companies and help them become the large employers of the future.
"Today's announcement shows the concrete benefits of this scheme. Here is an successful Irish IT company, already growing rapidly in export markets, which as a result of today's investment will have access to more growth capital and expertise, enabling it grow faster and create more jobs in Ireland."
Justin Keatinge, founder of Version 1, added: "Today's announcement provides us with the investment needed to take our growth and planned development through acquisition. We are a results driven organization, which prides itself on helping our partners strive for excellence in their areas of expertise."
Version 1 was founded in 1996 by Mr Keatinge and is one of the fastest growing IT services companies in Western Europe. The project is being supported by the Department of Jobs through Enterprise Ireland.

The Talk Talk call centre in Waterford will today shut down with up to 600 people set to be left unemployed this evening. This follows an announcement last month that the company would close its Irish base within 30 days. The Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton pushed for an extension to the 30-day notice period but the request was later refused.
