Bathing Ban At Sandymount Strand

Dublin City Council has issued a temporary ban on bathing at Sandymount Strand.

The move comes after tests carried out on Friday (18 July) revealed the water quality "does not comply with the minimum standard set down for bathing waters".

Signs have been put in place by the council prohibiting swimming in the area.

A further sample of the water has been taken for analysis and the results are due to be made available on Wednesday (23 July) when the local authority will provide an update on the situation.
