Bodies Discovered In County Meath

The bodies of two men have been discovered on an island in County Meath by gardaí investigating the disappearance of 32-year-old Eoin O'Connor and 33-year-old Anthony Keegan.

The two bodies were located on an island on Lough Sheelin at about 16:30 on Monday 26 May. The area has been sealed off for a technical examination. The bodies of the two males have not been identified at this stage.

Gardaí made the discovery while investigating the disappearance of two men.

Eoin O'Connor was last seen on the evening of 22 April at Kilbarron Avenue, Coolock. He is described as being 6" tall, stocky build with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a grey track suit bottoms and a blue windbreaker type jacket with a hood.

Anthony Keegan is described as being 5' 10" tall, medium build with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Both men are believed to have travelled together to the Cavan area in a silver Ford Focus car registration 04 D 46380 on the evening of 22 April.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information, particularly those from the boating community on Lough Sheelin, or anyone who may have been on the Lough between 22 April 2014 and 26 May 2014, to contact Kells Garda Station on 046 9280820, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
