SIPTU Announce Work Stoppage At Cork Research Centre

SIPTU members at Ireland's largest research centre are to stage two one-day work shortages in a dispute over pay.

The action follows a one day stoppage last month at the Tyndall National Institute in Cork.

The union has warned that further action will be taken if the pay dispute between its 70 members and their colleagues in UCC is not resolved.

Another work stoppage will be held next Wednesday and members of the Irish Federation of University Teachers are understood to be joining the strike.

A second work stoppage is planned for the following week to include University College Cork, where SIPTU has around 800 members.
