Gardaí Appeal For Information After Aggravated Burglary

Gardaí in Cork have appealed for information after a man was seriously injured during an aggravated burglary in Bishopstown this morning.

Garda report that at about 06:30 on Friday morning three men carrying iron bars broke throught the back door of a house in Curraheen before attacking a 37-year-old man.

It is understood that there were other people in the house at the time but no-one else was injured in the attack.

Gardaí have asked anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Curraheen area around 6.30 to contact them at Togher Garda Station on 021-497120.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Lorcan O'Reilly in Dublin last year have arrested a 15-year-old male. Mr O'Reilly died after he was stabbed in the early hours of 01 November. It is believed that Mr O'Reilly was attempting to break up a fight at the Oliver Bond flat complex in Dublin's south inner city when he was fatally injured.

70-Year-Old Man Arrested Over Fatal Accident That Killed Cyclist
A 70-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic accident in Gneeveguilla, Co Kerry. A cyclist was fatally injured when hit by a car in Scrahanfadda, on Sunday, 01 July. The elderly man is being detained at Bandon Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4- Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Eight Arrested In Dundalk Murder Inquiry
Gardaí investigating the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year have arrested eight people. Six men and two women were arrested this morning. It is understood that four men, aged 19 and 26, are being questioned in relation to Mr Myers' murder, while two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.

Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Collision
Gardaí in Mullingar have appealed for witnesses of a fatal road traffic accident on Thursday, 17 September. A man, aged in his 40s, was fatally injured when the truck he was driving left the road at approximately 12:30. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mullingar Regional Hospital.
