Recycling Plant Fire Closes Parcel Depot

The fire at a Dublin recycling plant has forced the temporary closure of An Post parcel depot at Merrywell Business Park.

Parcel deliveries across the country will be delayed as the result of the fire at the Oxigen recycling plant, which has been burning now for four days.

The fire, which is now thought to be arson, has caused major disruption to local residents and businesses.

An Post have said that it is not yet known when they be able to reopen the parcel depot.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.

Gardai Appeal To Mother Of Dead Baby Girl Found In Co Wicklow
Gardai have issued an appeal to the mother of a newborn baby whose body was found in a recycling depot to contact them. The body was discovered at a waste plant outside Bray in Co Wicklow on Wednesday morning. Superintendent Pat Ward, who is leading the investigation, said he is concerned for the welfare of the baby's mother.
