11 Arrested Following Investigation Into Unlawful Money Lending

As part of an ongoing investigation into unlawful money lending, Gardaí in Clare have arrested 11 people following searches in the Kilrush area, carried out this morning (3 December).

The searches, which commenced at 7am this morning, were carried out at a number of premises in the area, including private and business premises and involved local Gardaí assisted by Criminal Assets Bureau, Regional Support Unit, Special Dectective Units from Galway, the National Criminal Intelligence Unit as well as offcials from Revenue, Social Welfare and Clare Co. Council.

The arrests include 5 males aged between 55 and 18 yrs, and 6 females aged between 49 and 20 yrs. All those arrested are detained at various Garda Stations in Co Clare, Limerick and Galway under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Five Arrested In Series Of Raids In Co Clare
Five people have been arrested in a series of early morning raids across County Clare. Four men, aged in their 20s, were detained on suspected drugs, road traffic and domestic violence offences. While a man, aged in his 30s, were arrested during a raid on a site in the Ennis area.

Two Arrested Following Finglas Drug Find
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a heroin seizure in Dublin on Monday. Officers from Garda Drugs Unit carried out a planned search at a house in Ratoath Drive, Finglas, Dublin 11. During the search heroin worth an estimated street value of €40,000 was seized.

Further Weather Warning Issued
Met Éireann has issued a weather warning ahead of this weekend. The Status Orange rainfall warning is for counties Clare, Cork and Kerry. It came into force on Friday morning at 7am and will be in place until 23.59 on Saturday, 12 December.

80 Arrested In Dublin Drug Operation
Some 80 arrests have been made in the past 48 hours in a mass drug operation in Dublin. Detectives from the Garda National Drugs Unit working closely with local Garda units from the greater Dublin area searched over 100 premises in the past 48 hours and arrested 80 people suspected of involvement in the sale and supply of Heroin and Cocaine.
