Nine New Schools To Be Opened In Next Two Years
Nine new schools are to be opened in Counties Cork, Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare over the next two year.
Local Education and Training Boards, the Catholic Church and multi-denominational education body Educate Together will run the schools.
Five of the nine schools will be run by Educate Together, bring the total number of secondary schools the group runs to eight.
The schools are being established to cope with a "significant" increase in the school-going population.

Parents Want Schools State Managed
A recent survey has found three quarters of parents want primary schools to be managed by the State, pointing to the growing secularisation in Ireland. The Red C study, commissioned by the Irish Primary Principal's Network, found 72% of parents would prefer the state run schools, with equal status afforded to all religions.

Minister For Education Invites Applications For Patronage Of Nine New Post-Primary Schools
Nine new post-primary schools are now available for interested applicants from patrons, the Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O'Sullivan has announced. Minister O'Sullivan is inviting school patron bodies/prospective school patron bodies to apply for the patronage of nine new post-primary schools due to be established in September 2017 & 2018.

Up To 40 New Schools To Be Established In Six Years
Twenty new primary schools and twenty new post-primary schools are to be established in the next six years. Announcing the new schools, the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn said: "My Department is forecasting an increase of over 45,050 primary pupils and 24,900 post-primary pupils by the start of the 2017/18 school year.
