89 Arrested Under Operation Wireless

Gardaí have said 89 people have been arrested as part of an operation aimed at targeting serious criminal activity.

The initiative is part of Operation Wireless, which focuses on serious crime such as robberies, drug possession and firearms offences.

More than 400 properties across Ireland have been searched for stolen property, drugs and firearms as part of the operation. During the course of 419 raids, 5.5kg of cocaine valued at €385,000 was found at a house in Tallaght, Dublin, along with cash and associated drug paraphernalia, while another search at a yard in the Balbriggan area uncovered parts for up to eight stolen vehicles.

In a statement, Gardaí said there have been 89 arrests under Operation Wireless.

More than 20 people were arrested on foot of bench warrants, while a further five were detained under European Arrest Warrants for offences which include assault, robbery, fraud and extortion. All suspects are due to appear before the High Court.

Three men have been arrested in Co Waterford as part of Operation Thor, an ongoing national anti-crime initiative. The men were arrested on Thursday evening when garda stopped a car in Tramore. Three Arrested And Heroin Seized In Co Dublin
Heroin with an estimated street value of €650,000 has been seized and three men arrested by gardaí in Co Dublin. Gardaí have said that following an intelligence-led operation three men, aged in their 30s, were stopped and searched on Crumlin Road, Dublin 12 on Wednesday at around 18:30. The men were subsequently arrested.

Eight Arrested As Gardaí Swoop Targets Thieves
Gardaí searched 19 premises on Wednesday morning arresting eight individuals as part of an ongoing operation into organised criminality in the city centre area. Swooping in as part of Operation Hawkeye 2, which has been running for almost two months, the operation has been directed primarily against personal theft and other theft offences.

Men Arrested Over Santry Cannabis Seizure
Cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized from a home in Larchill, Santry in Dublin, on Saturday. Gardaí arrested four men in connection with the find. They are due to appear in court on Monday.

Men Arrested Over €1m Cocaine And Heroin Find
Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.
