DCC Urge People To 'Stay Away' From Bonfires

Dublin City Council has urged people to "stay away from bonfires" on Halloween night.

Asking the public to report "stockpiled bonfire material", the country's largest local authority have reminded people that bonfires are illegal.

A confidential helpline has been set up for the public to report bonfires ahead of tomorrow nights Halloween activities.

The council and local communities throughout the city have teamed up to organise an action packed programme of events tomorrow night.

Halloween Fire Safety Campaign Launched
Dublin Fire Brigade's Halloween Safety Campaign, 'Be Safe Been Seen' has been launched at Dublin Fire HQ by tArdmhéara Críona Ní Dhálaigh. The Fire Brigade will work with Dublin Bus, An Garda Siochana and the DSPCA in an effort to inform young people about the dangers of illegal bonfires and fireworks.

Donegal Council Warns People Against Dumping For Bonfires
Donegal County Council have appealed to the public not to dump waste material at bonfire sites, after they removed some three tonnes of waste from just one site. It is understood that waste is being both dumped and gathered for Halloween bonfires.
