Water Restriction To Be Imposed By Dublin City Council

An unknown problem at Dublin's water treatment plant will see restrictions imposed from tonight (Wednesday), resulting in low pressure and possible loss of supply.

According to Dublin City Council the production at Ballymore Eustace has dropped by almost 25%.

The council say that engineers are continuing to investigate the cause of the problem. It is thought that the recent heavy rainfall has made the water passing through plant more difficult to treat.

DCC added that the issue is not related to the algae problem at another treatment plant at Roundwood, which caused water rationing last March.
