Bord na Móna Launch Europe's Largest Wind Farm Project
Europe's largest onshore wind farm is to be developed in Ireland, Bord na Móna have announced.
The €1bn project will be based on peatland and cutaway bogs in the Offaly and North Leinster area.
Bord na Móna launched the project at a new site near Templetuohy in Co Tipperary
The wind farm is expected to provide wind energy to the export market.

Wind Farm Academy To Boost Donegal
A National Wind Energy Academy is being established at Letterkenny Institute of Technology as part of a €500,000 initiative being backed by the Donegal County Development Board. The first phase will see the development of a wind turbine maintenance programme which will be delivered in conjunction with BZEE, a German centre for renewable energy.

Sinn Féin Submit Wind Farm Regulations Proposal
Sinn Féin have produced a submission on proposed changes to guidelines on wind farms. The document, handed in by the party's spokespersons on the Environment and Energy, Brian Stanley TD and Michael Colreavy TD and EU election candidate Cllr. Matt Carthy, contains detailed proposals on setback distances, noise and shadow flicker.

Decision Over Maighne Wind Farm Application Extended
An Bord Pleanála have extended their decision time over the Maighne Wind Farm application in Co Kildare. General election candidate Cllr James Lawless said the vast number of submissions in objection to Maighne Wind Farm show how passionate and angry the residents of Kildare North are towards the potentially unwanted wind farm.
