Gardaí Remove Seven-Year-Old Girl From Roma Family

A seven-year-old girl has been removed from a Roma family in Dublin and taken into care.

Gardaí, using powers under the Child Care Act, removed the girl from a house in Tallaght on Monday afternoon.

Calling to the house, officers noticed the girl had blond hair and blue eyes. It is understood that the family said the child was theirs but Gardaí were not satisfied with the documents produced and decided to remove the child.

It is understood she is now in the care of the Health Service Executive, who will now make an application to the courts for a temporary care order.
