Global Childhood Gathering Underway In Dublin
A three-day Global Gathering for Early Childhood is being held in Dublin's Aviva Stadium, with some six hundred delegates expected to be in attendance.
Under the banner of "Today's children, Tomorrow's world, Turning points", the event will examine the support of young children's well-being, learning and development.
Discussions will include the importance of play, stress levels among children and Ireland's recently proposed Early Years Strategy, called Right from the Start.
The event will also look at 90 research papers covering topics relevant to growing up in Ireland and beyond.

A public open day is to be held at the Hollyford Wind Farm, giving people the opportunity to "learn about the turbines and renewable electricity". Operators of the wind farm, Energia, will meet visitors to the farm and take them on a guided tour of the facilities.

AIM Project Wins Prestigious Global Award
Ireland's Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) project, which has supported over 12,100 children in over 3,300 services nationally, has won a global award for innovative policy at this year's Zero Project Awards.
