Debt Collectors To Be Used For Outstanding Bin Bills

Debt collectors are to be used to help collect over €9 million in outstanding bin charges.

It is understood that €9.2 million is still owed to Dublin City Council for bin collection from before the council sold the service to Greyhounds Recycling in 2011.

As part of the the deal when it bought the waste collection service, Greyhound Recycling also took on responsibility for the collection of unpaid waste collection charges for some 140,000 households that was still owed to Dublin City Council.

The details of 104,000 households who have outstanding charges have now been passed to private debt collectors by Greyhound Recycling.
