Hauliers Get Free Passage On Motorway System

Motorway toll fees are to be waived from next month for hauliers in an effort to divert heavy good vehicles off the B-roads and onto the motorway network.

The move was suggested recently amid concerns over the high number of HGVs using local and regional roads.

The State will now cover the cost for these vehicles to use the M1, M3, M6 and Limerick Tunnel for the month of November.

The cost to the State is not yet known.
