Dáil Back After Summer Recess

The summer recess has ended and the Dáil have returned to begin work on the Budget and next month's upcoming referendums.

The two referendums, one on the abolition of the Seanad and the other on the establishing a Court of Appeal, have the support of both government parties.

It is understood that Fianna Fáil will push for supporting those in mortgage arrears as the parties begin to debate the upcoming Budget.

No specific Budget decisions have yet been taken, but it is expected that budget cuts and tax increases will feature, in a continuation of the previous two years.
