Two Garda Officers Charged Over Alleged Pepper Spray Assault

Two gardaí officers are to face charges in connection with assaulting a teenager with pepper spray.

It is reported that officers Brendan Dowling and Fiona Sheehan, with addresses care of Anglesea Street Garda Station, are charged with assault causing harm to a member of the public on Cook Street in the city centre on 12 May, 2012.

It is understood that the officers will deny the charge and are keen for the case to be heard as soon as possible.

The case was adjourned until 16 October at which point a date for a full hearing will be set.

Man Charged Over Serious Assault
A man in his 20s is expected to appear in court, charged in connection with a serious assault that happened at Dorset Street, Dublin. On Sunday morning, at around 1.45am, Gardaí were called to the scene at an apartment at Kelly's Row. A man, aged in his 30s, was suffered serious injuries in the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Court Date Set For Gardaí Accused Of Assault
A court date of January 6 2014 has been set for two garda officers accused of assault on a teenager. Officers Brendan Dowling, 46, and Fiona Sheehan, 26, are charged with assault causing harm to a 16-year-old boy in Cork in May 2012. The teenager was sprayed with pepper spray in the incident.

Firearm And Cannabis Seized In Dublin
An AK47 assault rifle and cannabis with an estimated street value of 4,000 euros have been seized in a raid in Dublin. A man in his twenties was arrested during the raid, which took place shortly after 9am on Wednesday at the house in Gloucester Place in the centre of the city.
