Sinn Féin Calls On Govt To Be 'Proactive' On North
Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adam has called on the Irish government to be "proactive" on the North.
Following an address by Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore at a British Irish Association event, Mr Adams said: "I welcome the Tánaiste's remarks and his expression of concern about the peace process and sectarianism in the North.
"The logic of this position is that the government must act on these matters with urgency.
"This includes the need for ongoing engagement between the Taoiseach and the British Prime Minister.
"The Irish Government must be proactive in the resolution of these issues, and in particular hold the British Government to account over its failure to meet its obligations.
"The British Government is not engaged with the Peace Process to any serious degree. They have actively undermined the work of the North's Executive.
"David Cameron's government has reneged on the Peace Dividend for the North, cut the Block Grant, refused to devolve powers on Corporation Tax and is now threatening to implement very damaging welfare cuts."

President Commemorates British War Dead
A ground-breaking war veterans' commemoration dedicated to those Irish men who fought - and often died - in the service of the British forces will be officially opened today. President McAleese will this afternoon inspect a 100-strong guard of honour of the Irish Defence Forces as part of the launch of the Mayo Peace Park, Castlebar.
