Investigation Launched Into Death At Corrib Gas Tunnel

An investigation has been launched following the death of a man at the Corrib gas tunnel in Aughoose, Co Mayo.

It is understood that the German man was working as part of a maintenance support crew at the site when he sustained head injuries at around 9am on Sunday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

All work at the tunnel site has been suspended to allow Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority to carry out their investigations.

Body Found On Greystones Luas Line
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man's body on the Luas line between Bray and Greystones yesterday, 20 April. It is understood that the body was found shortly after 7am between Greystones train station and the first tunnel at Bray Head.

65-Year-Old Killed In Dublin Road Accident
Gardaí have reported the death of a 65-year-old woman in a road accident this morning. It is understood the woman was struck by a lorry as it reversed down a lane way in Ranelagh, Dublin, at about 10am on Friday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardaí have sealed the crash site pending a forensic examination.
