Fire At Waterford Storage Facility 'Under Control'

Firefighters in Waterford have brought a blaze at a storage facility at Belview Port under control.

The fire was reported at Southeast Port Services just before 10am this morning, with five units from Waterford and Kilkenny attending.

Diesel tanks at the site also caught fire, resulting in a 200m exclusion zone.

An evacuation was carried but there have been no reports of any injuries.

It is understood that industrial products were destroyed in the fire.

Fire fighters remain at the scene and the N29 link road remains closed to traffic.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.

Waterford Streets Closed After Fire
Several streets in the city centre of Waterford remain closed this morning, following a fire that raged in the area on Thursday evening. Around 50 fire fighters from Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny worked together to bring the blaze under control.
