Property Developer Charged With Wasting Garda Time Bailed

A property developer who claimed to have been kidnapped and was subsequently charged with wasting garda time, has been bailed to appear again next month.

68-year-old Kevin McGeever, with an address at Nirvana, Ballywinna, Craughwell, Co Galway, was before Harristown District Court on Friday after the High Court amended the terms of his bail on Thursday.

McGeever had been held at Castlerea Prison for almost three week when he had been unable to pay his bail on July 24.

His new bail conditions include: residing at an address at Brooklawn, Clontarf Dublin 3, signing on three times a week with gardaí, surrendering his travel documents, and putting up his own bond of €10,000.

He will appear again at Loughrea District Court on September 4.

A woman is due to appear before Thurles District Court charged in connection with the discovery of a man's body in Roscrea on Sunday. Shortly after 2.30am on Sunday, 21 November, gardaí found the body of man, aged in his 40s, at a residential premises at The Malting, Roscrea, Co Tipperary.

Man Charged With Murder Of Cathal Sweeney
A man has been charged with the murder of Cathal Sweeney in Terenure on Saturday. Gary Walsh was remanded in custody after appearing at Dublin District Court today. He is due to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday. Mr Sweeney, 62, died after he was assaulted in a flat at Ashdale Gardens on Saturday night.

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson And Wife Appear In Court
Former DUP Leader, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife, Lady Eleanor Donaldson, have appeared before Newry Magistrates Court charged with a number of historical sex offences. Donaldson, 61, is facing a total of 11 charges, including one charge of rape, one of gross indecency involving a child and nine charges of indecent assault.
