Police Appeal For Information On 40 Year Old Murder

An investigation into the death of a teenager in 1973 has been reopened.

The body of 18-year-old Marian Beattie was discovered on Friday 30 March, 1973, at the bottom of Hadden's Quarry between Aughnacloy and Ballygawley.

Ms Beattie was last seen leaving a dance in Aughnacloy on the Friday with an unidentified man just after 1am.

Police have appealed for anyone with any information in regards to Ms Beattie and who she left the dance with to come forward.

Public Appeal After Third Confirmed Case Of Measles In Ireland
The Public Health Agency (PHA) has announced that it has been made aware of a third confirmed case of measles in the Republic of Ireland. It is understood that the case was confirmed in a resident of Ireland who had arrived back in the country from Abu Dhabi on Saturday 9 March 2024.
