DCC Permit By-The-Hour On-Street Car Hire

Dublin City Council have agreed legislation to allow car clubs to rent vehicles by the hour from on-street locations.

Members of car clubs will be able to rent cars by the hour on a pay-as-you-go basis. By-laws have now been introduced that will allow the clubs to operate from 31 on-street locations across Dublin. Users of the service also have access to free parking at all 30,000 pay-and-display parking across the city.

It is understood that the cars help reduce congestion by giving city centre residents easy access to cars without owning one.
