Laundries Survivors Call For Mass Boycott

A Magdalene Laundries survivors group has called on Irish catholics to boycott mass services in protest at the decision by the religious order who ran the facilities to contribute to a compensation fund.

The Magdalene Survivors Together group have said they need to the publics support, accusing the government of being "totally out its depth".

While calling for the boycotts the group also asked ministers to exempt survivors from the statute of limitations, in order for them to be able to sue the four congregations.

This follows news earlier in the week that the four religious orders, Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, the Sisters of Mercy, the Good Shepherd Sisters and the Irish Sisters of Charity, said that they would not contributing anything to a government created compensation fund.
