Two Arrested In Connection With Cannabis Found In Taxi

Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of €150,000 worth of cannabis in Cork.

Gardaí have confirmed that the drugs were found when they stopped and searched a taxi in the Carrigaline area, uncovering 25 kilos of cannabis resin.

A follow-up search of a house uncovered cannabis plants, worth an estimated €5,000.

A 41-year-old man from Dublin, who was driving the taxi, and a 31-year-old man from Cork, were arrested in connection with the finds.

The two men can be held for up to seven days without charge under drug trafficking legislation.

Two Remanded Over Donegal Drugs Seizure
A father and son from Co. Armagh have appeared in court in Co Donegal, charged in connection with the seizure of cannabis worth an estimated €500,000. Kieran Smyth senior, 47, and his son Kieran Smyth junior, 24, appeared in court in Donegal yesterday. Both were remanded in custody.

Gardaí Seize €5.3m Worth Of Drugs In Co Meath
Up to €5.3 million worth of drugs have been seized following a search operation in Co Meath. As part of a planned operation by Gardaí from Meath Divisional Drugs Unit, officers carried out the search at a property in Clinstown, Stamullen at 2.45pm on Thursday, 29 June.

Cannabis Seized During Raid In Wexford
Gardai have seized herbal cannabis following a raid on a house in Wexford. It is estimated to have a street value of €45,000. A number of plants were found during the search of a property in Lee Heights on Thursday. No arrests were made and investigations are continuing.
