Co Kerry Garda Appeal For Help Identifying Body

Garda Co Kerry have appealed for help identifying the body of a woman found in a holiday home in Kenmare some two weeks ago.

It is understood that a passport was found in the holiday home, but the body of the woman found dead bore little or no resemblance to the photograph of the document.

The British passport bore the name Lalita Sarna and listed the age as 51. Garda say the woman in the passport picture is thought to be ethnically Indian, but the body found does not match.

A garda investigation found that the unknown woman appeared to be living in the Kenmare holiday home since December 2011, and had been in receipt of social welfare.

The body was found on May 24 and is thought to have been dead for a few days prior to discovery.

Efforts to trace relatives in the UK have proven unsuccessful.

Kenmare gardaí may be contacted at 064-6641177.
