Stabbing Suspect Released Without Charge

A man arrested yesterday in connection with a stabbing in Donaghmeade was released from custody without charge this morning.

The arrest followed investigations by Gardai in Coolock over an incident in which a 44-year-old woman received serious stab injuries at her house on Donaghmeade Park on 8 April 2011.

The man, thought to be in his 30s, was arrested in Dublin City centre early yesterday morning part of the investigation.

He was detained at Coolock Garda station for questioning but has now been discharged.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

'Traumatic' Tiger Kidnapping In Tallaght
Two men have been involved in what has been described as a "traumatic" tiger-kidnapping incident in County Dublin. Gardaí in Tallaght have launched an investigation into the incident which involved the false imprisonment and abduction of a male bank official and another man from a house in Deerpark, Kiltipper area in Tallaght.

Man Arrested Over Early Morning Burglaries In Limerick City
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in Limerick City. It is understood that a number of burglaries where reported in the Athlunkard Street area of the city between 07:50 and 08:15 on the morning on Monday 25 January. Gardaí responded to reports and arrested the man close to the scene.

Pair Arrested By Gardaí Investigating Human Trafficking
Two women have been arrested in County Westmeath in connection with an investigation into human trafficking, money laundering and prostitution. Gardaí detained the pair, aged 42 and 49, after a search of two premises in the Mullingar area yesterday morning, Sunday 14 April. The investigation is ongoing.
