Rhino Heads Stolen From Museum Archive

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the theft of Rhino heads and horns from the National Museum Archives in Swords, Co Dublin.

Around 22:40 on Wednesday night three masked men entered the archives building, tying up the lone security guard.

Three Rhino heads and horns were then loaded into a large white van.

It is understood the robbery took around an hour, with the security guard eventually freeing himself and raising the alarm.

It is estimated that the Rhine heads and horns are worth in the region of €500,000.

A technical examination of the crime scene is underway and garda have asked anyone with information to contact Swords Garda station on 01-6664700.
