Gang Rapist To Be Freed From Jail

Notorious gang rapist, Thomas O’Niell, will be freed from prison this weekend upon completion of a jail term for his latest crime.

24-year-old O'Neill was sentenced to 18 months for threatening to burn the home of the sister of Euromillions winner Dolores McNamara.

O'Neill, with an address at 94 The Meadows, Murroe, Co Limerick, threatened Jennifer McCarthy and said that he would burn her mother, Deirdre O'Donovan, out of her home on July 25, 2011.

He was sentenced in Limerick Circuit Criminal Court last month but had been locked up since January 12, 2012.

O'Neill, who has 36 previous convictions dating back to when he was 13, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he led a five-man gang rape of a woman in Cratloe Woods, Co Clare, in 2004.

Darragh Costelloe, of Castlecurragh Park, Mulhuddart, punched Eimear Kennedy without warning or provocation when she came entered the ladies toilets of McTuarcaills Pub, Townsend Street, on St Patricks day 2012.

Galway Brothel Operator Sentenced To Four Months
A Romanian woman has been sentenced to three months in prison for operating a brothel in Galway city. 34-year-old Monica Ciuciu pleaded guilty at Galway District Court yesterday to acting or assisting in the management of the brothel at a rental property on Mary Street.

Dublin Teen Sentenced For Role In Gang Attack
A viscous gang attack on a Polish boy, who was repeatedly kicked and stamped as he lay on the ground, has resulted in a teenager being given a six-month sentence for his role. The victim - who was left badly cut and bruised - had been attacked over a cigarette lighter, the Dublin Children’s Court heard.

A prisoner who escaped from jail 8 months into an eight year sentence over the death of a Garda officer has been sentenced to 4 months. Martin McDermott escaped from the low-security prison in Blacklion, County Cavan on 15 March, PSNI officers in Derry/Londonderry recaptured him the next day.

New Expanded Search Launched For Missing Dublin Men
A fresh has begun for two Dublin men who went missing two months ago. Gardaí say that the a search has begun along the border of counties Cavan and Meath. They are searching for Eoin O'Conno and Anthony Keegan, who were last seen in Co Cavan on 22 March.
