Garda On High Alert During Hilary Clinton Visit

A major security operation has been in place as US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton visits Dublin for an international security conference.

She joins foreign ministers from more than 40 countries but most of the security is focused on her as she is considered one of the top terrorist targets in the world.

Mrs Clinton will deliver a lecture on human rights at Dublin City University and will be met there by Education Minister Ruairi Quinn and DCU president Brian MacCraith.

Later she will travel to Government Buildings for a meeting with Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

She will then fly to Belfast tomorrow to discuss the peace process and investment opportunities before concluding her four-day visit to Europe with trips to the Czech Republic and Belgium.
