Garda Ombudsman Begins Investigation Following Man's Death
The Garda Ombudsman Commission is investigating the death of a man in Drogheda.
The man, who was anted by gardai, is believed to have taken his own life.
Neighbours in the North Quay area said they heard several bangs between 5am and 7am this morning.
A post mortem is due to be carried out today.

Garda Ombudsman Appeal For Witnesses After Man's Death
The Garda Ombudsman is appealing for witnesses after a man died after being arrested in Co Mayo. Paraic O'Donnell, 39, from Achill Sound in Co Mayo, was arrested at Cox's when Gardaí were called to an incident at the late bar around 1am. Mr O’Donnell was taken away by gardaí in a car, and subsequently died.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

An investigation has been launched into the death of 23-year-old man a short time after leaving garda custody. The Garda Ombudsman, who are investigating the death, say that on Wednesday 21 May, 2014, a man was arrested by gardaí in Maynooth and taken to Leixlip Garda Station. It is understood that the man was intoxicated when arrested.
