Leas Cross Nursing Home Director Guilty Of Misconduct
An Bord Altranais has found the former Director of Nursing at the Leas Cross nursing home guilty of professional misconduct.
ráinne Paula Conway has been removed from the nursing register following a hearing of the Nursing board's Fitness to Practise Committee which found she failed to ensure residents at Leas Cross received adequate care.
The nursing home was the subject of a 2005 Prime Time Investigates programme, which aired allegations of the mistreatment of residents.
The home was subsequently closed.

Funding Secured For Co Mayo Nursing Homes
The government have announced funding of €15 million for nursing homes in Co Mayo, which Taoiseach Enda Kenny said will make a "significant difference for elderly people in our communities". Announcing the funding, the Taoiseach said: "Six Nursing Homes in Mayo are to receive a total of €15,070,000 in funding for upgrades and refurbishment.

The allocation of €400,000 in HSE funding to upgrade two nursing homes in Co. Roscommon has been welcomed by Fine Gael Roscommon/South Leitrim TD, Frank Feighan. "The Plunkett Nursing Home in Boyle is to receive €300,000 while Áras Mháthair Phóil in Castlerea is to be allocated €100,000.
